Beatriz Aramburu, Ph.D. (Founding Member, Director of DBT)

Dr. Aramburu received a Ph.D in clinical psychology from the University of Washington. She is licensed as a psychologist in the state of Washington. From 1992 until 1999, Dr. Aramburu was an Associate Professor of Psychology at the Universidad de Santiago, Chile. In Chile, she also had a private practice specializing in the treatment of severe depression and anxiety disorders. She was a consultant for the Chilean Psychological Society for Anxiety Disorders from 1997 to 1999. After returning to the U.S. in 1999, Dr. Aramburu was therapist at the University of Washington Student-Counseling Center where she had a wide variety of clients who suffered from different stress and anxiety related issues.  She also taught at the University of Washington, as well as at the Washington State School of Professional Psychology. Dr. Aramburu is also a DBT expert, and has been involved in DBT since 1988, while Marsha Linehan, Ph.D. was developing and refining the treatment. In 1999, she worked as a research therapist in a major DBT study at the University of Washington. In addition to her practice at the Evidence Based Treatment Centers of Seattle, she currently serves as a research therapist in another DBT study at the University of Washington under Dr. Marsha Linehan. Dr Aramburu is fluent in Spanish and English.
