Jamie Bedics, Ph.D. (Clinical Fellow)

Dr. Bedics received his B.A. in psychology from Penn State University, his M.S. in clinical psychology from the University of Utah, and his Ph.D. from Fuller Graduate School of Psychology, Pasadena, CA. He completed a clinical internship at the Portland VA Medical Center where he worked as a member of the dialectical behavioral treatment team and was extensively trained in evidence based treatments for post-traumatic stress disorder and depression. Dr. Bedics' research has focused on understanding how people change during the course of therapy and how patients' relationships with their therapists affect the outcome of treatment. He is currently studying how people change their self-concept during the course of dialectical behavioral therapy for the treatment of borderline personality disorder. Dr. Bedics' doctoral research involved a comparison of methods of observing how couples communicate during conflict and how different communication strategies relate to marital satisfaction and relationship commitment. He also has research and clinical interests in addictions and cognitive and personality assessment. Dr. Bedics is a member of the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies, American Psychological Association, and Society for Psychotherapy Research.
