Alison Leary, Ph.D. (Licensed Psychologist)
Alison Leary received her Ph.D. in Child Clinical Psychology from the University of Washington, where she was trained in dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) by Marsha Linehan, the treatment developer. She went on to complete her clinical internship and a post-doctoral fellowship at Seattle Children's Hospital. She has extensive training in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) and recently served as a research therapist on a clinical trial of DBT at the University of Washington. Dr. Leary has expertise in providing both individual and group DBT and specializes in working with adolescents. She enjoys working collaboratively with adolescents and their parents and families. Dr. Leary has also been involved in several federally funded research projects investigating the development of emotion regulation skills in children. In addition to her work in DBT, she also works with children and adolescents that present with a wide range of concerns including mood disorders (anxiety and depression), elimination disorders, attention deficit disorder, oppositional defiant disorder and eating disorders. She is a member of the American Psychological Association.
