Jennifer H.R. Sayrs, Ph.D. (Founding Member, Director of Clinical Training)
Dr. Sayrs received her B.S. at the University of Washington and her PhD at the University of Nevada, Reno. She then served as a postdoctoral fellow with Dr. Marsha Linehan at the University of Washington, where she was clinical coordinator of Dr. Linehan's dialectical behavior therapy research clinic. Dr. Sayrs' experience with DBT includes treatment and consultation regarding adults, adolescents, couples, families, substance dependence, and forensic populations, as well as adherence coding for individual and group DBT. She has taught and supervised DBT since 1996 and has been a DBT trainer with Behavioral Tech, LLC since 2001. She also has had extensive training and experience in treating depression and anxiety disorders including PTSD, panic, social phobia, agoraphobia, generalized anxiety, and OCD, and remains very interested in treatments for anxiety. Dr. Sayrs currently is a therapist and training director at the DBT Center of Seattle and the Anxiety and Stress Reduction Center of Seattle, as well as a research therapist on her third DBT clinical trial at the University of Washington. She is licensed as a psychologist in the state of Washington.
